Peanut Butter Smoothie

No mood to bake these days especially chiffon cake. I've failed on baking chiffon cake since last year December and I don't really know what's wrong. Looking back to those chiffon I've baked, and I don't feel there are my works. I've really disappointed to myself.
Well, to get myself a relaxing mind and forgot about the failure. I've made a drink to cool down my mind, banana and peanut butter smoothie. I've been making my homemade peanut butter for years and I found this recipe is really tasty. For the peanut butter, I simply roast some peanut then take off the skin. Blend it in a blender until it become a smooth peanut butter consistency. I didn't add sugar in it as I normally spread another layer of blackcurrant jam on my bread and the sweetness was just nice. For banana smoothie, I used 1 big ripe banana, 1/2 cup nonfat milk , 1/4 cup plain nonfat natural yogurt, 1 1/2 tablespoons peanut butter. Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Ahh... I feel much release after this smoothie. Take a break, I shall try the chiffon next time.

Hi, your failed attempt on chiffon cake really came as a surprise to me as I always see very nice and well-rise chiffon cakes in your space! Maybe there is really a thing called 'kitchen god'? I can feel the disappointment as with all my failed attempts ;-(

Hi Kitchen Corner,

Don't get dishearten. Even sometime I do make mistakes. Especially, when I was so stress with my son work and tried to use baking to distress but it turn out disaster. Try out a chiffon recipe which you are familiar with first.

Happy Baking. :)

Hi Quizzine,
When I'm looking those chiffon pictures I baked last time I don't believe that's my work now! Well, now I can understand those who failed on baking chiffon too :( That's really upset.

Hi Happy Flour,
I've been finding out any mistake I've made and using the same recipe which I success before, but somehow it's still a disaster. First I thought that's might be my mistake on technique but I've been trying for more than 5 times and it's still a disaster. I whipped a perfect egg whites, the egg yolks mixture had no problem, ingredients are all good in condition but ... :( well, I don't know. I've got to try again. Thank you so much for your encouragement. I really appreicate it. Finger cross, the next one will be alright.

Hi Grace,
What happened? Like what the rest of them said, not like u to fail on chiffons.Maybe your mood was not right when u fold the whites? Maybe the oven was disobedient? Did u put it on the last rack and use the fan function at 160C? Any idea what went wrong? Maybe the blogger community can help? Dun give up!

HI Grace
I totally understand your broken heart... every failure in the kitchen seems to me like my fault...and I've nevere have a good chiffon!!! But I know yours are fantastic...Have you check your oven??? I'm not sure, but I think could be a problem if it doesn't work properly! I know...the good cook doesn't blame hers tool but...if the previous attemps were good what else? Good luck, don't give up
cheers Martina

Banana smoothie sounds really yummy and easy to make. I'm a bit sick and tired of ready made jam, should be nice to have a try. Thanks

Hi Yan,
Thank you so much for your support, it's very encouraging.

Hi Jane,
I don't know what went wrong, I whipped very good egg whites also fold the mixture nicely. Last time eventhough I didn't fold nicely, the chiffon still looking good. I didn't bake at the lower rack, I baked at second lower with the thermometer 140'C oven indicator 160'C. I forgot which rack I've used to. The next bake should put at lower rack see what happen. Thank you so much!

Hi Martina,
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. I'll try again. Finger cross!

Hi Grace, if there is nothing wrong with the preparation of the batter, then likely it is due to your oven. I have problem baking chiffon cake with my oven. I'm sure you will bake a beautiful chiffon cake on your next attempt. Good luck!

Hi HHB,
I think of the oven problem before but somehow I still can use the oven to bake bread and other cakes. That's make me very confusing and I just hardly trust my baking skills anymore. Well, I shall try to bake again once I've got the confidence again. Thank you so much!
